About Liverpool FC

Liverpool Football Club was founded in 1892 by John Houlding, the landlord of Anfield Stadium, after its inhabitants Everton FC moved to another stadium due to problems over the rent.

Liverpool Results

Since its foundation, the team had both poor and successful seasons. One of the best decades for the team was during the seventies under the management of Bob Paisley, when the team won back to back First Division titles. The worst years for the organization were during the twenties and fifties. In the twenties the team was not able to win any championship, and during the fifties the team got relegated.
Through out its existence Liverpool FC has been the home to a number of legendary players and managers, such as Kevin Keegan, Rafeal Benitez, and current captain of both the England National Football Team and Liverpool Steven Gerrard. These people helped Liverpool gain its reputation as one of the leading teams in the English Premier League, and to defeat their arch rivals Everton and Manchester United, throughout the years. Liverpool Football Club was one of the four English Premier League teams competing in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals in 2008.

"You will never walk alone" is the Liverpool Motto

The song "You will never walk alone" by Roger and Hammerstein is Liverpool FC's anthem and has been sung by fans of the club ever since the 60's. The song has gained popularity around the world and used is often song by other clubs. It got so popular that the band Pink Floyd even recorded Liverpool fans singing it and used it as an introduction in their song "Fearless".

Liverpool will be without the services of Emiliano Insua for the next month due to his participation in the Under-20 South American Championships with Argentina in Venezuela.
The left back,
who has started the last four matches in the first team, will be away until February 8 meaning he won't be available for this weekend's game with Stoke, the double header with Everton, the trip
to Wigan or the Anfield clash with Chelsea.

Joining Insua in the tournament will be reserve defender Ronald Huth who will be representing Paraguay.

The tournament runs from January
19 until February 8, and is staged every two years.

With Xabi Alonso is a big lost but as usual as always the team has to work hard every times a major player is injured that is the story of Liverpool. Just got Torres back now Alonso is out.
Oh!Well the players are fighters and strong they'll still doing well. Poor Xabi seven stitches in his foot that must hurts. That foot will be so sore I feel for him been in that situation to have
stitches. All my love to Alonso.

Just a day to rest but the Liverpool shouldn't loose the game against Newcastle. My Torres might be playing in that game miss him so. But the team is doing great without him that's good to know
with back it'll be extra to the team.

What about Robbie Keane finally scoring for the Team two goals against Bolton? It's just need a little more patient from him and the fan. It's just a matter of times. And finally it isn't a tied
game.

Manager Rafael Benitez could return to the Liverpool dugout for the Boxing Day clash with Bolton.

Benitez is still recovering from a kidney stones operation, but is expected back on the
bench at Anfield.

Fernando Torres is set to miss a sixth game in a row despite making "markedly improved" progress from his hamstring injury, says assistant boss Sammy Lee.

"He
improves with every training session and he has worked very hard on his rehabilitation," Lee said.

"He is getting better. We will put him in when we see fit."

If Torres does not
make the holiday programme, with the Reds also away at Newcastle on 28 December, they are likely to retain Robbie Keane up front with Steven Gerrard as a support striker.
