Tevez and Mascherano sign for West Ham
West Ham have completed the signing of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano, two of the world’s most sought after young players.
Tevez and Mascherano, both 22, join the Hammers from Brazilian side Corinthians on permanent deals for undisclosed fees.
West Ham are thought to have struck a deal with Media Sports Investments, who own the rights to the two players. MSI were linked with a takeover of Upton Park last season but eventually pulled out.
Both players have in the past been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge because of Roman Abramovich’s alleged connections with MSI.
We live in interesting times.

Well the Hammers have been our feeder club in all but name for a while now, guess this just confirms it. Looking forward to seeing them both at the Bridge next season once they’ve aclimatised…
West Ham must have given MSI a massive number of shares, this is crazy!
The rumour is West Ham have ceded a massive percentage to MSI/Corinthians if and when these boys are sold on.
I heard 40%.
I know this is probably typical “Chelsea fan arrogance” but I imagine if they settle into the Premiership (always a gamble with South Americans or Spanish) then we will sign them next year for a ludicrous fee.
Just watched a youtube collection of Tevez, obviously doesn’t tell the whole story, but what a player - like a psycho Argie version of Rooney. And uglier.
Must be pretty galling for the recent fan arrivals at the Bridge like Harry. Still, never mind, I’m sure the real fans will welcome a bit of competition.
Oooh Iron57 that smarts! Are those claret and blue y-fronts I can see poking out the top of your chinos? OK, I’ll admit it, I’ve only been a fan since the glory days of 1988…
Still, I know it’s tough when your biggest ever transfer deal stinks more than a hooker’s gusset but fear not - it’ll be worth it for *one* exciting season:
“These are exciting signings for us but, of course, if we were offered major fees for the players in the future we would have to consider it - just as we would with other players.” - Hammers media spokesman Phil Hall.
