Chelsea fined for doping breach
The Football Association has fined Chelsea £40,000 for breaching doping regulations.
Chelsea were charged in relation to the independent private drug testing the club conducted on Adrian Mutu in July 2004.
The club has issued a strongly-worded statement criticising the FA’s bureaucracy and drug testing procedures, but also admitting that a technical breach of the doping regulations occurred in this case.
