Chelsea and Arsenal hold Cole talks

Arsenal have admitted to holding talks with Chelsea about the sale of Gunners defender Ashley Cole.

Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein said: “As we speak now he is an Arsenal player and until you hear otherwise he is an Arsenal player.

“We have had a couple of very civil conversations with Chelsea and there is nothing else to say on that.

“If something happened and we decided to take an offer that’s another story but at the moment he is under contract to us.”

“Very civil conversations”. I bet. I can imagine the civility was peeling the paint off the walls.

After ColeGate Dein suggested to the PL panel that part of Chelsea’s punishment should be paying Arsenal a fine of £8,000,000, for unsettling their player. Slightly overlooking the fact that Cole had approached us. Dein also wanted Chelsea to be docked points, so I’m sure the present conversations between the clubs are positively brimming with sweetness and light.

Suuuuureee…..Cole approached Chelsea. Chelsea were just minding their own business and Cole knocked on their door.

So did Frank Arnesen and John Obi Mikel.

This player is good and will be perfect playng for chelsea :

    1. he has no honour
    2. no loyalty.
    3. and just think about money.

    Good sign.

With £15 million plus on the table I’d imagine that the atmosphere is very cordial. Amazing how terribly vile and dirty our Russian blood money is until such time as a large wedge of it is dangled in front of someone who wants to boost their transfer budget.

Actually, Cole did approach Chelsea. For sure Chelsea are not always strict observers of protocol (!!) - nor is Dein come to that - but the initial approach was from Cole to Chelsea. Don’t take my word for it, ask someone in the know at Arsenal.

    lol @ JD

Arsenal would like the cash, Chelsea have it, Cole wants to move. Internally I think Arsenal came to a decision some time ago to sell Cole, and once that has happened, conversations will be civil and cordial…after all, this is now business and Arsenal simply want what every other club wants from Chelsea - their money :)

They only love us for our dosh Ahmed… ;-)

It should of course be remembered that Ashley Cole was fined £100,000 having been found to be in breach of Rule K5, which prevents a contracted player making an approach to a club with a view to negotiating a contract without prior written consent from his club.

Not that it didn’t take two to tango, of course. And had Ashley not been tangoing with Chelsea, he’d have been salsaing with someone else in Spain. The shameless tart.

I would pay whatever it takes to get Cole, now.

Because the thought of Arsenal starting the season and CL Qualifying with a defence that comprises Pascal Cygan and Kolo Toure as the senior defenders is cracking me up.

I hope for your lot’s sake Terry Henry’s got his boots sharpened….

Buy him, then stick him in the reserves and put Gallas at left back.
