Chelsea declare interest in Kompany
Anderlecht have confirmed that Chelsea are interested in signing their central defender Vincent Kompany.
“Chelsea are interested and maybe a deal can be done,” said Anderlecht managing director Herman van Holsbeeck.
“I’ve advised Roman Abramovich to keep a special eye on him.”
The 19-year-old Belgian international is much sought after by a host of European clubs; Sevilla had bids of £8.4 million, and £11.5 million, rejected by Anderlecht before the close of the transfer window.
Kompany was ruled out of Anderlecht’s 1-0 Champions League defeat at Stamford Bridge due to injury and lost the opportunity to further impress Jose Mourinho.
Brilliant defender and one for the future, any club in there right mind would want to sign him. chelsea might have a trump card in having Yves Ma-Kalambay so kompany might be tempted to join up with his compatriot already on the chelsea books
