Predictably, some fickle Chelsea fans have began playing into the hands of the opposition just because we had an away draw at Anfield in the Champions League. Internet chat-rooms and messageboards are filled with venom-vomiting supporters and emergency Mourinho advisers mourning the fact that we did not beat Liverpool black and blue. They’re now busy [...]
The Financial Services Authority has said it is closing the case on enquiries into the nature and status of certain shareholdings in Chelsea Village before its takeover by Roman Abramovich’s Chelsea Limited. Related links: Bates cleared in Chelsea investigation
Champions League match day two. I presumed that I would wake up this morning with nerves jangling, great expectations and an unquenchable thirst for revenge over Liverpool for denying us a trip to Istanbul last season. However the over-hyped build up I’ve seen and heard so far has unfortunately done little to stir my interest. [...]

Taken from this evening’s Fiver, Guardian Unlimited’s tea-time take on the world of football. The Fiver is not in the pay of Roman Abramovich (but name the date, time and swanky hotel, Roman, and we’ll be there discussing personal terms before you can say: “I’m looking for a sumptuously-paid lickspittle”). However, it does feel obliged to [...]
Six games, six wins, twelve goals scored and none conceded — and it’s all down to luck. Well, it is if the inane ramblings of a certain Frenchman from N5 are to be believed. We’ve been accused of many preposterous things in the last seven days, but to put our great start to the season down [...]
Chelsea’s defence of the Carling Cup will begin with an all-Premiership home tie. The draw has paired us with Charlton. The tie at Stamford Bridge will take place on either Tuesday 25th or Wednesday 26th October.
