Ranieri sacked

Chelsea Football Club has confirmed that Claudio Ranieri is to leave Stamford Bridge:

A Chelsea spokesperson said: “Chelsea Football Club today announced that Claudio Ranieri is to leave the club.

“Claudio has done a first class job for the club and paved the way for future success.

“We would like to wish Claudio all the best for the future. We are discussing the exact terms of his departure with him and his representatives.”

Obviously not unexpected. It’s been on the cards for weeks, if not months. Still, I did feel a twinge of sadness.

Thank you, Claudio.

    Disgraceful.

Although Ranieri does collect what – 6 million sovereigns?

Will cushion the blow lol – apparently off to Roma I think I heard.

    Nice.

It definitely could have been better handled, there’s no doubting that. But now we must move on. Hopefully Mourinho will introduce an element of stability.

Ranieri’s more likely to end up at Spurs or Liverpool. Roma appointed Prandelli almost immediately after Cappello left.

Can’t disagree with that but i find it highly doubtable whether Chelsea will even manage to get second next season and c/league semis.

If that holds true you can’t be sacking a manager annually.

Do that and you’ll find yourself fighting Liverpool and the Geordies before long, let alone the other 2 big firms.

    J

Rafael Benitez has quit—probably for Liverpool or Inter—so Claudio could end up managing Valencia next season.

Hmm… Spurs or Valencia? Now that’s a difficult choice. ;-)
